History – Epiphany Episcopal Church began in this community late in the 19th century and its beautiful stone building with stunning stained-glass windows were consecrated in 1909. Epiphany Episcopal Church is located in Sedan, KS – the county seat of Chautauqua County. Sedan is a rural community surrounded by family farms and ranches that have been part of the community for generations. It boasts a charming small-town feel and a Main Street lined with the architecture of 20th century buildings. In this growing downtown district, you will find banking, coffee shops, cafes, retail and specialty stores, a newly renovated classic movie theater and the long-standing local grocery store. We are also proud of Sedan City Hospital, a critical care access facility with emergency room and outpatient physical therapy services. Tallgrass Medical Clinic is also located at the hospital. Sedan also has two chiropractic clinics and a dentist office. The citizens of Sedan are proud of its award-winning school district and many citizens spend their evenings at local school events cheering on students. For outdoor activity, there is a well-maintained nine-hole golf course, two lakes for fishing and several areas for nature walks and hikes..
It is sincerely hoped by the parish membership that this time of transition will bring with it a time of growth.
